Again you have made my day!! Brought back lots of memories of my school days and my children's fashion senses while attending school; elementary and high school. See below the reply from Kristine Weese!!!
Hilarious. When I was a teen I applied for jobs at both Dalmy's and Scuby Furs here in Victoria wearing a thin, cotton, below-the-knee, beltless East Indian patterned dress (and really, those are just the two places I remember). UNCLEAR ON THE CONCEPT.
Nice article! I can totally relate to your fashion sense as a young one. My favourite pants in Grade 3 were pink polyester and, after the elastic waistband wore out, I tied a green knit belt around them that was from a dress. EGAD!!
Thanks Kristine! Yep, treacherous waters being navigated when it came to fashion choice, no question 🤣! I can picture your pink pants with the green knit belt!
Omg, I love the flower power/blazer/single sock combo!! This W & S reminds me of the black and white plaid skirt/yellow crochet top & cap my Mom had me wear to family gatherings - all polyester, equally itchy, and yes, like you said, oh so flammable 😬 Thank you for sharing your stories Kristine, love them!!
Haha, you were always a character Kristine! I love the dress and blazer, not sure about the one sock… 😜
Still looking for that sock…and I would be pretty stoked to have that dress now!
Ah, I longed for school uniforms at one point in my junior high career...
They do tend to level the playing field.

Love your postings!!!!
Thanks Shirley! Well you know I’m still looking for that fashion edge even now…😅. And my socks still are misbehaving.
I don't think knee socks were designed to stay up, ever!! We are all still looking for that fashion edge!! Let me know if you find it!!! lol

Wait, there was a concept?! 🤣. Love this B.A. It’s really good to know I wasn’t wading in those waters on my own!
Haha—you DEFINITELY weren't alone!
Lol - recently found some photos with the pointy collars - what were we thinking :) Loved this glimpse of your childhood!!!
Those collars, eh? No redeeming qualities there.

I can't wait for more stories starring both this new friend and this fashion-forward grandmother ;)
